Tertiary Scholarships

 

The Community Waikato Tertiary Scholarship round opens early March and closes Mid April of each year.


The Community Waikato Scholarship aim to support paid and volunteer workers in community-based social service organisations:
  • Who are undertaking tertiary study that will contribute to their own development and social service work
  • Who have demonstrated their leadership potential and significant commitment in the social service sector.
We are particularly keen to support students undertaking courses relevant to not-for-profit management.

To apply for this scholarship, you need to be:

1. A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.

2. An employee or volunteer for a not-for-profit social service organisation in the greater Waikato region. (This region is the region covered by the following Councils: Hamilton City, Hauraki, Matamata-Piako, Otorohanga, Ruapehu, South Waikato, Thames Coromandel, Waikato, Waipa, Waitomo.)

3. Undertaking tertiary study leading to a NZQA approved qualification that will contribute to your social service work.

4. Supported by the community-based, not-for-profit social service organisation you are involved in for this application.
