Sheryll joined Community Waikato in October 2005. She has a solid and longstanding background in community involvement including working with the North Taranaki Kindergarten Association and the Thames Women’s Resource Centre. Sheryll describes those in the sector as "joy carriers because they work tirelessly to help other people in our communities." Sheryll offers facilitation, information and advice on a range of community activities including strategic planning, running meetings, governance and management and starting new organisations and works closely with several local networks. She holds diplomas in business and management and has just completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Not for Profit Management with Unitec. Sheryll also holds a Diploma in Herbal Studies and from her home in the Coromandel creates herbal remedies, ointments and lotions for friends, family and pets and has a special interest in animal complementary health. Sheryll comes from Taranaki and has lived in the Coromandel for over 20 years now, along with her family, and considers herself a 'local'. |
