Welcome

At Community Waikato we work with community organisations to support and strengthen the Waikato social service  sector

Our experienced team can help you and your organisation with areas such as governance, management, policy development, Human resource management, legal structures, operational planning, budget and funding advice, financial systems, training, advocacy and facilitation.

EARLY TUESDAY CLUB

The Early Tuesday Club, which runs from 8.30 to 9.30 the first Tuesday of every month, starting March 12 2013 at Community Waikato is an initiative developed to support Managers and Coordinators, with training and learning on topics to help the day to day management of their organisations.

Perhaps even more importantly the Club provides a unique opportunity for networking and peer support.

The topics covered in the series are all areas identified by our Managers and Coordinators, particularly those who are new, who may be juggling a range of roles and responsibilities.

REFORMING THE INCORPORATED SOCIETIES ACT 1908

The New Zealand Law Society is currently undertaking a review of the Incorporated Societies Act and public submissions were called for in June 2011 and closed recently at the end of October 2011.
Community Waikato works alongside many incorporated societies and knows that any reforms to this Act will have major impact on the governance and operation of these groups.  We believe that it is the right time to be undertaking reforms to this Act but we want to ensure they are the right ones undertaken for the right reasons. To this end we have made a submission to the Law Commission and made it available here for your information. You can make contact with Community Waikato via this site or the Law Commission via their email com@lawcom.govt.nz or through their website www.lawcom.govt.nz
