State of the Sector Survey 2011

Thank you everyone who participated in Community Waikato’s 2011 ‘State of the Sector’ survey.
Community Waikato made contact with a range of community organisations asking how they felt the Waikato community sector was going, and how their own organisations were managing. Click here for the whole report.

REFORMING THE INCORPORATED SOCIETIES ACT 1908

The New Zealand Law Society is currently undertaking a review of the Incorporated Societies Act and public submissions were called for in June 2011 and closed recently at the end of October 20011.
Community Waikato works alongside many incorporated societies and knows that any reforms to this Act will have major impact on the governance and operation of these groups.  We believe that it is the right time to be undertaking reforms to this Act but we want to ensure they are the right ones undertaken for the right reasons. To this end we have made a submission to the Law Commission and made it available here for your information. You can make contact with Community Waikato via this site or the Law Commission via their email com@lawcom.govt.nz or through their website www.lawcom.govt.nz
